About Us – The Story Behind Tobio's

Hi, I’m Mel, the heart behind Tobio's. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been a creative soul: painting, crafting, journaling, experimenting with anything that sparked my curiosity. But every time I wanted to start a new hobby, I faced the same pain point:

Where do I even start?

I’d spend hours researching what materials I needed, comparing brands, and visiting craft stores. By the time I had everything, I’d spent a small fortune and felt overwhelmed before even picking up a brush. And then… came the doubts: What if I’m not good at this? What if I fail?

More times than I’d like to admit, I tried a hobby, felt intimidated, and gave up too soon. What was supposed to be relaxing often turned into stress. And I kept thinking: Aren’t hobbies meant to be fun?

Then came the pandemic. My miniature painting supplies sat untouched in a closet. That’s when the idea started to bloom:

What if starting a new hobby could be easy, joyful, and accessible for everyone, beginners and pros alike?

And so, Tobio's was born.

Who is Tobio?

Tobio isn’t just a name, it’s the little spirit that inspired this journey. Tobio is my cat, my loyal companion through late-night creative sessions and quiet moments of reflection. Playful, curious, and full of life, he reminded me of the joy and freedom creativity should bring. Tobio became our muse, our symbol of exploring without fear.
